Liturgy and Prayer
As members of the Body of Christ, we are all called to actively and consciously participate in the liturgies of the Church through our presence, ritual action, prayer, silence and song.
At the Prep, we aim to enter into the mystery of Christ that the Church celebrates in her liturgy, so that the faithful may live from it and bear witness to it in the world.
Seamus O’Brien ’16 cantors for a school-wide liturgy in the Church of the Gesu.
Christian Coney ’17, Kevin Edmundowicz ’17, and Vince Luciano ’16 lead the opening procession as altar servers at our annual Mass of the Holy Spirit.
Daily Mass is offered in the White Chapel every day at 8:00 a.m. It is open to the entire school community!
Fr. Robert Hussey, SJ, Provincial of the Maryland Province of the Society of Jesus, served as the main celebrant for our 165th Mass of the Holy Spirit.
Since 1889, Prep men have gathered in the Church of the Gesu to actively participate in the sacrifice of the Mass.
Each of our 17 retreats allow our community opportunities for liturgy and prayer.
We strive to actively engage every member of our community in the celebration of the Mass.
The sanctuary of the Church of the Gesu constantly invites us into deeper, more intentional prayer.
